George W,
In light of recent changes in our nation’s power, I would like to say thank you. Thank you for your character over the last two terms. Thank you for keeping us safe in times of fear. Your faith and convictions were worth far more to me than popularity. For all of those who hated you, you turned the other cheek and kept pressing on. It is no easy task to run a country, but you stayed true to your beliefs and values, and did so with confidence. I believe that God was honored by your service. Thank you.

We have a digger! Although you maybe can’t tell from the picture, Ferris is sitting on top of a 3 ft. deep hole! I think he’s trying to find the center of the earth. But, whatever the reason for his quest, it’s mighty fun to watch him go! His facial expressions tell all during this mini photo shoot in the backyard…he would NOT budge off the hole! For good reason though, last time we filled it in and he had to start all over! What a tough life. So Ferris, keep on digging…..I hope you find something great!

Ok, I know what you must be thinking…but no, this is not some kind of strange concrete activist post…..just a sheer excitement to have a place to park my vehicle! That’s right, we are practically in love with our driveway. Now before you judge, hear me out. As a former apartment dweller, who fought for a place to park late at night, carried groceries for a full block to get them home, and had nasty notes left on her windshield because people thought you were taking up too much space on the street, I have earned the right to LOVE my driveway!! Now it really wasn’t that bad, and we loved our neighborhood and apartment….but this new found luxury is fabulous. Here is our first car wash in our new driveway….something we will never take for granted! ( Ferris enjoyed running through the hose…I think we have a water dog on our hands!)

Oh faithful blog checkers, I apologize for leaving you hanging by a thread! Well, maybe that’s taking it a bit too far….but none the less, I am sorry. With internet finally installed and things coming together at the house, I promise to include you in the latest happenings! Here we go….a few big projects have come to a close at the unger digs. For starters, we put in all new windows….which were keeping us warm and toasty until august decided to visit us in january, now they are keeping us cool. The hardwood floors are finished and new doors have been hung. The picture of the garage shows the many fabulous projects we have yet to conquer! This weekend calls for french doors built by Jacob himself! (pics to come on that soon…)

Since June 2005, (the month and year we got married and found an apartment with NO doggies allowed), Jacob and I have anxiously awaited bringing a puppy home. That’s 3 1/2 year folks! Well the day finally arrived on Christmas eve!!! We picked up our golden retriever Ferris, and welcomed him into our lives. What a sweet little, or not so little, puppy! Welcome home Ferris, we have been waiting for you.
